Karl Springer "Onassis" Bar Stools
Four bar stool-height "Onassis" chairs by Karl Springer. So named because the design was originally created by Karl Springer for a commission from Aristotle Onassis. So naturally, they're luxurious.
Made entirely of mortise and tenon joint construction in a open-barrel shape, they sit on a curved base with brass covered foot rests. A long and wide spine leads to a curved back. They have stitched leather seats and the frames are covered entirely in lacquered goatskin -- also known as parchment -- an extravagant finish that would become a signature of Karl Springer design.
In very good original vintage condition. On each chair there are superficial cracks in the parchment where the spine meets the seat back (a close-up of each is pictured).
24" wide x 20" deep x 39.5" high
